Started in the year 1965 as a family business, the tannery initially produced vegetable tanned sole leather for Shoes. The company has grown to be one of the most prestigious exporters from North India and from being an employer of a few hundred to a strong family of 1500 staff.
Year 1990, ALIG INTERNATIONAL marked the production of chrome tanned leather and with ample experience & resource; ALIG quickly grew to be one of the reputed chrome tanned leather producers of NORTH INDIA, serving export houses in domestic as well as international market. Increased demand in High Performance chrome tanned leather, lead to expansion of two additional units in Kanpur area.
Focussing on Export, the urgent need of research and development (R&D) lead to opening of its first centralized in-house CHEMICAL AND PHYSICAL LAB and R&D CELL, in the year 1992. 2nd generation, armed with higher technical knowledge and international exposure, were setting new boundaries for the leather industry.
In the year 2001, ALIG TANNERY entered into the Upholstery sector. To meet the expanding demand of upholstery leather from India, a new state of the art Finishing Unit was setup at Kanpur Area & another expansion unit at Leather Technology Park, Banther.
Year 2007, marked the foundation of ALIG FASHION, a shoe manufacturing unit, Involved in Export to International & DOMESTIC Market.
Today, Alig continues to strive hard to remain as India’s Top quality manufacturer, focussing strongly on its R&D to fuel its growth and competiveness.
